Para a Realidade
Para a realidade,
não sou nada.
Quanto a mim,
eu concordo.
Para mim,
a realidade
é sua.
E, ao dizer
isso,
é uma regra
em que ninguém
confia.
For Reality
For reality,
I am nothing.
For me,
I agree.
For me,
reality
is yours.
And as I say
this,
it is a rule
no one
trusts.
Leitura do poema
Reading the Poem
“For Reality” begins as a dialogue between the individual and what we call the real. Faced with the vastness of the world, the poet agrees that he is nothing, yet this agreement does not feel like defeat. By saying that reality belongs to the other person, he suggests that each of us perceives it from a particular place. What appears absolute begins to reveal itself as intimate and changeable.
The short lines leave spaces where doubt can breathe. The final statement offers a rule that no one trusts, as though every certainty about reality carried its own weakness. The poem invites the reader to recognize that living means continually negotiating between the world that exists and the world we are able to understand. In that meeting, the “nothing” of the opening gains a voice and a presence precisely because it dares to question what seems unquestionable.
