Ilustração do poema “Sou um Voador”

Sou um Voador

english

I Am a Flyer

a loose balloon.

Without balance,
victim of the air,
inspired air—
breath of poetry.

So I fly,
never landing,
always
a poem.

Leitura do poema

Reading the Poem

The poem turns the poet into a loose balloon, surrendered to the air and unable to choose a final place to land. What might appear to be a lack of balance becomes the very condition of flight. Air is not merely a force that pushes; it is also inspiration, breath, and the invisible current from which poetry begins.

By saying that it never lands, the voice accepts an existence made of movement. The poem is not only something it writes; it is what it continually becomes. The lightness of the image carries a deeper thought: creating may mean allowing oneself to lose the ground, trusting the wind, and remaining open to whatever direction comes next.
