A Grandeza do Nada
No vasto,
no eterno vazio do nada,
eu estou em cada fragmento —
quero dizer, em cada propósito.
Não destruo nada.
Construo tudo.
Assim, o vasto está contido,
um limite foi estabelecido,
e agora minhas mãos
estão entrelaçadas,
estão segurando
a grandeza do nada.
In the Vast Forever Empty Nothingness
in the vast
forever empty nothingness
I am in each bit
I mean each purpose
I destroy nothing
I build everything
so, the vast is contained
a boundary established
and my hands now
are interlaced
are holding
the greatness of nothing
Leitura do poema
Reading the Poem
“The Greatness of Nothing” enters emptiness without treating it as useless absence. The poetic voice finds itself in every fragment, then corrects the word to “purpose,” revealing that even the smallest element may carry intention.
By building everything while destroying nothing, the speaker gives the vast a boundary and tries to hold it between interlaced hands. The paradox gives the poem its beauty: nothingness is immense, yet it can be embraced. Creating purpose becomes a human way of touching what cannot be fully understood.
